CEMACON has inaugurated a new factory in Recea, Sălaj County, the first of its kind in Romania, producing brick slips – a product range focused on building façade aesthetics. The investment exceeds EUR 14 million and includes partial funding of EUR 1.9 million from Norwegian grants.
In the presence of local authorities, suppliers and employees, CEMACON’s management presented the technology used in the new production line and rewarded colleagues involved in implementing the project. “Today, we are inaugurating a new factory, unique in Romania. We have the most modern technology currently available anywhere in the world and will offer the market authentic, durable products of excellent aesthetic value.
We are one of Sălaj’s main economic players, a high-performing business with significant growth, more than 300 employees and turnover exceeding RON 220 million at the end of 2022, up 26% on the previous year. We expect an additional RON 35 million in turnover from entering the market with the new product range.
The new factory uses environmentally friendly technology, reducing its carbon footprint by 90% compared with traditional technology. We continue to focus on energy efficiency and diversification of energy sources, with an emphasis on green energy. We are therefore implementing a 1 MW photovoltaic park, “Cemacon Green Energy Farm”, a project worth more than EUR 1 million, also benefiting from partial Norwegian funding.

In the autumn, once the brick slips product portfolio has been finalised, CEMACON will organise a series of events presenting the new factory to customers, architects, developers and enthusiasts in the field.
